Barrister Mir Ahmad Bin Quasem Arman is set to contest the forthcoming national election from Dhaka-14 constituency as the candidate of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.

Nationally acknowledged as a distinguished legal practitioner, active organizer, and reflective political thinker, Barrister Arman has long been associated with advocacy for the rule of law, justice, and principled politics grounded in ethical responsibility.

At the time of Sheikh Hasina’s departure from Bangladesh following a historic mass uprising, he had regained his freedom.

He has stated that during eight years of confinement, he was denied even the slightest exposure to natural light or fresh air. According to his account, the secret prison—referred to as “Aynaghar”—offered no means of communication, and he was kept isolated in a single room under extremely strict surveillance to prevent any leakage of information.

Firmly convinced that sustainable development is unattainable without ethics and accountability in governance, Barrister Arman continues to align his political aspirations with his professional commitments. His candidacy in Dhaka-14 thus positions him as a representative of a principled political tradition, seeking to harmonize law, politics, and social responsibility in the pursuit of national progress.
