With a firm commitment to establishing equality, justice, and good governance in the Feni-1 parliamentary constituency, eminent and senior Supreme Court lawyer Advocate S. M. Kamal Uddin has stepped forward with active engagement in public service as a Member of Parliament (MP) candidate from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami for the upcoming election.

His more than three decades-long distinguished career stands as a remarkable example in Bangladesh’s legal arena as well as in social service.

Born into a respected Muslim family in Fulgazi sub-district under Feni district, Advocate Kamal Uddin completed his postgraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Dhaka. He later earned his LLB degree from Dhaka Law College in 1991 and formally joined the legal profession in 1993.

With over 30 years of professional experience, he was enrolled as an advocate of the High Court Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court in 1998. He is a life member of the Dhaka Bar Association and has successfully served as its Senior Vice President.

Currently, he holds key organizational responsibilities as Joint Secretary of the Bangladesh Lawyers Council and as an Executive Committee Member and Law Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dhaka Metropolitan South, providing strong leadership in both legal and political spheres.

Beyond courtroom practices, he has served as a legal advisor to leading institutions including Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC, and Takaful Islami Insurance, demonstrating his professional expertise and credibility. A significant part of his career has been devoted to education and social welfare.

He is a Trustee Board Member of Manarat Trust, a former Governing Body Member of Motijheel Ideal School and College, and the Founding Chairman of Panjeree School and College, playing a vital role in expanding quality education. He is also associated with the media and publishing sectors as a Director of the Daily Sangram and Bangladesh Publication Limited.

Over the past three decades, Advocate Kamal Uddin has fought hundreds of cases on behalf of oppressed and marginalized people. Alongside his legal work, he has played a leading role in democratic movements against authoritarianism.

Drawing on his extensive experience, he is now determined to implement a series of ambitious development plans for the people of Fulgazi, Parshuram, and Chhagalnaiya. His vision includes establishing modern hospitals, modernizing technology-based education systems, and building a corruption-free society to ensure sustainable development and improved livelihoods for the local population.
